History of the ENSH

The European Network of Smoke free Hospitals (ENSH) was founded in 1999.

The ENSH concept was innovative and offered excellent implementation instruments. Participation and registration with the European Network of Smoke-free Hospitals signified commitment to establish uniformity in tobacco control policies within European hospitals.

Nowadays the organisation has become global, involving around 1300 health care centers all over the world.

Its new image also reflects its evolution and growth. One of the most important signs of communication for an organization, the logo, was re-designed and rethought.
The old symbol representing the ENSH (a building)  turned into an abstract an more modern image. The new logo evokes the old rectangular building slowly and gradually transforming into a sphere that represents the whole of this growing institution and the network character of the organization.

The new version of the logo retains the original values but in a more modern way and adaptes to the new reality. It reflects the tradition and knowledge accumulated over the years with the new challenges presented.
